Kadir van Lohuizen (NL) has covered conflicts in Africa and elsewhere, but is probably best known for his long-term projects on the seven rivers of the world, the rising of sea levels, the diamond industry and migration in the Americas. His most recent project ‘Arctic: New Frontier’ done together with Yuri Kozyrev for the Fondation Carmignac is currently being exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
In this workshop participants will discuss, share & learn about the development of a long-term photographic project. NOOR photographer Kadir van Lohuizen is a master of visual narrative and storytelling, allowing him to engage participants into crafting their stories. Together with the participants, he will work on the (re)conceptualizing, sequencing, and narrowing down the series and projects. Activities will include presentations on related projects by Kadir, group reviews and editing sessions, and receiving critical and constructive feedback from Kadir.
Participants should bring a wide and narrow edit of a (long-term) project they would like to focus on, their laptop & USB key.
Successfull applicants will be contacted within the 10 working days after the workshop’s application deadline for the full payment of the workshop fee.
Participants must possess advanced photography skills and must currently be working on at least one major personal / documentary / artistic visual project involving photography. Both institutionally educated or self educated participants are welcome, and will be considered equally and selected by the NOOR team in consultation with Kadir van Lohuizen. The minimum age requirement is 18. The workshop fee is 450,-excl. VAT.
You will now be forwarded to the NOOR Shop Payment portal where you can make your payment. The workshop fee must be paid for the entry application to be considered. If an applicant has not been selected to participate, the full amount will be refunded to the applicant’s account up to 5 working days after the application deadline.
Fees, Cancellations & Refunds
All deposit fees must be paid on application. The full workshop fee will need to be payed within 10 working days after the application deadline.
NOOR reserves the right to cancel groups with less than 10 participants, and existing applicants will be given a full refund. In the event of cancellation, students will be given at least 2 weeks advance notice.
NOOR reserves the right to change or alter the program advertised.
NOOR is not responsible for travel and accommodation expenses to attend the workshop. NOOR cannot facilitate any visa applications.
In case the workshop is cancelled, NOOR is not responsible for the reimbursement of travel, visa, or accommodation expenses (both domestic and international). We highly recommend that you buy refundable tickets and/or travel insurance.
Refunds to applicants who wish to cancel their place on the workshop can only be given up to 10 days in advance of the date of the workshop. After this point, refunds cannot be issued.
